Application
EPA 524.2 Fortification Solution has been used as an internal standard to identify and quantify volatile organic compound (VOC) species of benzene, toluene, ethyltoluene, and xylene (BTEX),[1] bromodichloromethane (BDCM),[2] and THMs,[3] respectively, in river water, tap water samples as well as air and water of indoor swimming pools, by gas chromatography (GC) based techniques. EPA 524.2 Fortification Solution may be used as a CRM to quantify volatile organic compound (VOC) analytes in indoor and outdoor air samples by GC coupled to mass spectrometry (MS).[4]
