Lasalocid A sodium salt may be used as an analytical standard for the quantification of lasalocid in the following:
Poultry feeds using liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection (LC-UV).[1]
Animal liver and eggs using liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS).[2]
Eggs using liquid chromatography-electrospray mass spectrometry (LC-EMS).[3]
General description
Lasalocid is an antibacterial agent, belonging to the carboxylic polyether group of antibiotics, produced by the fermentation of Streptomyces lasaliensis.[3][4] It is commercially available as a sodium salt and is reported to be used as a coccidiostat in poultry.[5]
