General description
p-cresol is a volatile phenolic compound, having a tar like odor, which is a metabolite of tyrosine and phenylalanine, mainly produced by the intestinal bacteria.[4]
This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food.
