Application
Thimerosal EP Reference standard, intended for use in laboratory tests only as specifically prescribed in the European Pharmacopoeia.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Thimerosal is a sulfhydryl (thiol) oxidizing reagent capable of inhibiting a wide range of sulfhydryl-dependent enzymes and proteins such as PI3-kinase-dependent methionine synthase, glutamate transport receptors, and Na++K+ dependent ATPases.

As part of the corporation global plan to support the Minamata Convention in eliminating mercury-containing compounds, as of January 2021 customers will be required to provide an End-Use Declaration.
