Application
The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
The indoxacarb CRM may also find the following uses:
Investigate the persistence, distribution, and risk assessment of indoxacarb residues in tomato and soil samples by using gas chromatography with electron ionization mass spectrometry
Simultaneous enantioselective analysis of cis-epoxiconazole and indoxacarb residues in different tea, black tea infusion, and soil samples by chiral HPLC coupled with tandem quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (Q-TOF/MS)
To develop and validate a method for the determination of pesticide residues of iprovalicarb, indoxacarb, and boscalid in grape and wine samples by gas chromatography/ion trap mass spectrometry (GC/ITMS)
Assess chili fruit samples collected at different time intervals for the presence of indoxacarb and thiamethoxam by gas-liquid chromatography-electron capture detection (GLC-ECD) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS)
General description
This certified reference material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. This CRM is traceable to primary material from an NMI, e.g. NIST or NMIJ.
Certified content by quantitative NMR incl. uncertainty and expiry date are given on the certificate.

Indoxacarb is a non-systemic and chiral oxadiazine insecticide. It is a sodium channel antagonist and blocks the voltage-dependent sodium channels in the neurons thereby impairing nervous function and feeding, causing paralysis and death of the insect. Absorbed by ingestion and contact, it is used against sucking insects, mainly lepidopterans pests on a wide variety of crops.
As per Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009, repealing directive 91/414/EEC, indoxacarb is approved for use as a plant protection agent in the European Union. The Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/845 of 27th May 2015 sets a maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.02 mg/kg in fresh/frozen fruits and tree nuts for indoxacarb (measured as a sum of indoxacarb and its R enantiomer). Indoxacarb has to be monitored in the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticides Residues (MACP), run within the EU and EFTA in/on products of plant origin.
