A single analyzer for Carbon contamination and Nitrogen/Phosphorous nutrient levels in water
Contamination levels in water directly affect treatment and reuse decisions. By monitoring contamination and nutrient levels, water managers can make efficient, cost-effective choices for protecting and reusing valuable water supplies.
The BioTector Analyzer offers configurable solutions to meet diverse plant needs:
1. TIC & TOC (NPOC) System
Measures Total Inorganic Carbon (TIC) and Total Organic Carbon (TOC) in a liquid sample. This setup is ideal for samples with low concentrations of volatile organic compounds, delivering reliable Non-Purgeable Organic Carbon (NPOC) data.
2. TC System
Measures Total Carbon (TC), capturing the sum of TIC, NPOC, and volatile organic carbon (VOC). This comprehensive measurement helps provide a clear overview of all carbon present.
3. VOC System
Delivers measurements for TIC, TOC, TC, and VOC. Here, TOC is calculated as TC minus TIC, representing the sum of NPOC and VOC for a full picture of organic content in your sample.
With accurate and complete online monitoring of TOC, TN, and TP, you can:
• Improve treatment and reuse strategies through reliable water quality data.
• Reduce costs on nutrient dosing and protect sensitive treatment processes with precise C:N:P ratios.
• Save time on manual sampling—BioTector’s robust, industrial design ensures dependable operation, enabling you to focus on plant management.
• Detect product losses early to minimize waste and reduce the risk of noncompliance caused by accidental contamination releases.

TOC is commonly used as a fast, reliable water analysis metric for water quality. TOC levels are often correlated to lagging water quality metrics such as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD).
