General description
Amikacin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic.[3] It is a semisynthetic analog of kanamycin and is effective against most gram-negative bacteria.[4] It is used for the treatment of skin infections.[5] Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards
