General description
1-Dodecanol belongs to a broad range of flavor and fragrance standards, used for the quality control of food and cosmetic products. It is identified as the main component in Etlingera elatior flower, widely used in traditional medicine and as a flavoring compound in food products,[1] essential oils of Hypericum perforatum[2] and Polygonum minus.[3] It is the most studied C12 alcohol[4] and finds extensive usage as a diluent/solvent/blender in low-cost perfumes, detergent fragrances, etc.[5]
