Application
2-Phenoxyethanol may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations[1] and anesthetized fish[2] using chromatography techniques. General description
2-Phenoxyethanol is a compound, which belongs to the class of volatile organics[4]having a faint rose like aromatic odor.[5] It may find applications as a solvent in ball-point inks[4][5], resins and in organic synthesis.[5] It may also be used in cosmetics as an antimicrobial agent and preservative.[5] 2-Phenoxyethanol is commonly used as an anesthetic in fisheries and aquaculture applications.[3][2] Other Notes
