Chromolith® Performance RP-18 endcapped 100-4.6 HPLC columns Validation Kit consists of 3 columns from 3 different manufacturing batches. Chromolith® columns are made of monolithic silica with a characteristic bimodal pore structure. Chromolith® Performance RP-18 endcapped columns have macropores with 2 μm diameter, giving a column efficiency exceeding 80,000 plates/meter. The mesopores are 13 nm (130 Å), and the surface modification is octadecylsilane with full end-capping. Chromolith® Performance RP-18 endcapped columns fall under the USP L1 Classification. The column efficiency is comparable to a 5 μm particle size fully porous particulate column. The recommended Guard-columns are: Chromolith® RP-18 endcapped 5-4.6 guard cartridges (3 pieces) [1.51452] with the Chromolith® Guard Cartridge Holder 5 mm x 4.6 mm [1.52032] Or Chromolith® RP-18 endcapped 10-4.6 guard cartridges (3 pieces) [1.51451] with the Chromolith® Guard Cartridge Holder 10 mm x 4.6 mm [1.52033]. The Chromolith® column coupler can be used to significantly increase the separation efficiency of Chromolith® columns by coupling several columns in series (up to 100,000 plates/per column). Ultra-fast gradient LC method for omeprazole analysis using a monolithic column: The Chromolith® RP-18 endcapped column was employed in an ultra-fast gradient liquid chromatography method for the analysis of omeprazole in enteric-coated pellets, highlighting its efficiency in pharmaceutical quality control and rapid method development (Borges et al., 2010).
