Cocaine hydrochloride solution

Cocaine hydrochloride solution was used as a calibration standard to determine cocaine in human hair samples using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).[1] It may be used as a standard in the quantitative analysis of cocaine and its adulterants like lidocaine and livamisole using dragendorff reagent combined with paper spray ionization mass spectrometry.[2] General description
Cocaine is mostly commonly available as cocaine hydrochloride which is a white to off-white powder. It is taken by intranasal route. In some surgeries it is used as topical anaesthetic drug.
