General description
Erythrulose is generally used as a tanning agent in the cosmetics industry and is a source of chiral ethyl ketones used in aldol reaction organic synthesis. Red raspberries are a natural source of erythrulose. It is often used in combination of dihydroxyacetone to impart attractive tanning properties to the skin.[1] Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
