Glycolic acid is an α-hydroxy acid with exfoliating and anti-ageing properties. It is useful in dermatology, medical, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical applications.[2] Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
