General description
Harpagoside, a naturally occurring iridoid glycoside, is the main bioactive component of medicinal plants[1] like Radix Scrophulariae, Scrophularia ningpoensis, Scrophularia buergeriana and Harpagophytum procumbens.[1][2][3] It can exhibit a wide range of biological and pharmacological properties[2] and hence used in the treatment of ailments like pharyngalgia, arthritis, rheumatism, tussis and constipation.[1]
