Lutein a non-provitamin A yellowish carotenoid, is commonly found in eggs, fruits, vegetables, vegetable oils and grains.[1] One of the most important beneficial effects of lutein is the prevention of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts .[2] This Compound belongs to the class of carotenoids.
