Application
The SRM is intended for use as a primary calibration standard for the determination of mercury quantitatively.
Disclaimer
For U.S. Customers: Contains mercury; Do not place in trash – dispose according to local, state, or federal laws.
Features and Benefits
The certified value of the SRM was determined by calculating the mass fraction values of mercury, which is obtained through two methods:
Gravimetric preparation
Isotope-dilution cold-vapor inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ID-ICP-MS).
The certified value is metrologically traceable to the SI unit of mass fraction, expressed as micrograms per gram.
The NIST certificate is provided with expiration certificate, storage, handling, use, and maintenance instructions.
General description
Each unit of SRM 3133 contains five sealed borosilicate glass ampoules, each containing 10 mL of an acidified aqueous solution. This solution is gravimetrically prepared to contain a known mass fraction of mercury and comprises nitric acid at an approximate mass fraction of 10%.
