For every lot exact values of particle size and standard deviation are determined with an accuracy of 0.01 μm using a Coulter Multisizer.
Application
Used to calibrate, qualify and monitor the performance of particle size analyzers, surface scanning instruments and particle counters.
The polystyrene latex microbeads are also used:
to characterize sizing performance in impedance-based experiments.[1]
to produce PS-μbead arrays by laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT) technique.[2]
as a test standard for use in aerosol testbed to measure the sampling efficiency of aerosol inlet/manifold system[3]
