Microgen GN-ID A (MID64) is designed for the identification of commonly encountered Enterobacteriaceae from food samples. The system uses 12 microwells containing standardized biochemical substrates to evaluate the biochemical characteristics of bacterial isolates. Following the biochemical reactions, the colour changes are read and the results are interpreted using the Microgen Identification System Software. The system supports the identification of organisms from genera including Escherichia, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Salmonella, Shigella, Proteus, Providencia, Serratia and Yersinia, among others. Gold Standard Diagnostics states that reliable identification can be obtained within approximately 24 hours. The product is intended for professional laboratory use.
