Application
Muscalure may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in goldenrod (Solidago canadensis L.) flower and its unifloral honey[1] and cuticles of female house flies (Musca domestica L.) by Likens-Nickerson simultaneous distillation-extraction (SDE)[2] and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).[1][2]

General description
Muscalure is an insect pheromone utilized to attract houseflies. It is generally used as a coactive ingredient in fly-bait products.[3]
