General description
p-Tolualdehyde (4-Methylbenzaldehyde) is a methylated benzene[3] that belongs to the class of aromatic aldehydes.[4] It is identified as a flavor/aroma component in Greek cotton honey,[5] Brazilian wines,[6] tobacco, etc.[3] 4-Methylbenzaldehyde is also reported to be produced by the members of the genus, Phellinus.[7]
