Poly(dimethylsiloxane) [PDMS] is a polymer. It is a stable silicone rubber. It has been used as ion selective membrane for ion-sensitive field-effect transistors, as spring material in accelerometers, elastomer on a tactile sensor and as flexible encapsulation material in decouple sensors.[2] This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food.
