Ponceau SX may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte:
In cosmetic products by micro-matrix solid phase dispersion and liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.[1] In foodstuffs by combining high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with diode array detection (DAD) and ion-trap time-of-flight mass spectrometry (IT-TOF/MS).[2]
