Application
Potassium (K) standard solution SRM is intended for primary use as a calibration standard for quantitative determination of potassium.
Features and Benefits
The certified value of the SRM was determined by calculating the mass fraction values of Potassium, which is obtained through two methods:
Gravimetric preparation using Potassium Chloride
Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES).
The certified value is metrologically traceable to the SI unit of mass fraction, expressed as micrograms per gram.
The NIST certificate is provided with expiration certificate, use, storage, handling, and maintenance instructions.
General description
Each unit of SRM 3141A contains five sealed borosilicate glass ampoules, each containing 10 mL of an acidified aqueous solution. This solution is gravimetrically prepared to contain a known mass fraction of potassium. and comprises of nitric acid at an approximate volume fraction of 1 %.
