Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor 164 also referred to as VEGF 164 or Vasculotropin is a growth factor that induces endothelial cell growth, vasculogenesis and angiogenesis. VEGF 164 can enhance collagen and fibronectin expression in mesangial cells which in turn stimulates TGF-β1-induced extracellular matrix.
