1) Description
The main advantages of polyethersulfone (PES) membrane filters are their high flow rates and low affinity, which make them less likely to capture proteins or other large molecules during filtration, reducing sample loss. Their hydrophilic nature means that these filters do not require prewetting when exposed to aqueous solutions.
2) Application
Due to their high throughput and low adsorption properties, PES membranes are used in pharmaceutical manufacturing for sterile filtration of intravenous solutions and in biotechnology for the filtration of cell culture media. Additionally, in laboratory research, PES filters are used to protect sensitive analytical equipment, such as chromatographs, from particle contamination.
3)Features
▶ Excellent thermal resistance and chemical resistance.
▶ Having high flow rates thanks to their symmetric structure.
▶ A low protein adsorption, recommended for filtration of protein filtration as well as aqueous solutions filtration.
▶ The low level extractables makes them suitable for environmental analysis.
