1) Description
PP Fitting is composed of polypropylene, which has good chemical stability and is a lightweight and corrosion-resistant material. However, its heat resistance is lower than PEEK and is usually used in a lower temperature range; PEEK Fitting is composed of polyetheretherketone and is a high-performance engineering plastic with excellent mechanical strength, heat resistance and chemical resistance. They are excellent in terms of performance and can maintain stability at extremely high temperatures.
2) Application
PP Fittings are commonly used in non-high temperature applications such as cold water systems, chemical transportation and low pressure systems; PEEK Fittings are often used in more harsh environments, such as high temperature, high pressure or highly corrosive chemicals.
3)How To Choose PP Fitting & PEEK Fitting?
Temperature Range:
PP Fitting: For low to medium temperature applications (typically between 0°C and 90°C).
PEEK Fitting: Suitable for high temperature applications (up to 250°C).
Chemical Resistance:
PP Fitting: Good chemical resistance, suitable for most non-polar solvents.
PEEK Fitting: Excellent chemical resistance, able to withstand extreme chemical environments.
Mechanical Strength:
PP Fitting: Moderate mechanical strength, suitable for low pressure applications.
PEEK Fitting: High mechanical strength, suitable for high pressure and harsh environments.
Cost:
PP Fitting: Lower cost, suitable for applications with limited budget.
PEEK Fitting: Higher cost, used in situations with higher performance requirements.
Choosing PP or PEEK fittings depends on application requirements, including temperature, pressure, chemical compatibility and budget. PEEK is usually used in situations with higher performance requirements, but the cost is correspondingly higher. PP fitting is more popular in cost-sensitive scenarios with mild application conditions.
