    The mixed cellulose ester (MCE) membrane is hydrophilic, comprising a blend of cellulose acetate (CA) and cellulose nitrate (CN) materials. MCE membranes feature a high proportion of cellulose nitrate, making them suitable for tasks similar to those performed by CN membranes.
