1) Description
This polyimide/silicone septa is the perfect alternative when PTFE septa is not possible in certain laboratory environments. Because PFAS and polyfluoroalkyl substances do not break down, they can accumulate in the environment and in the human body over time. There is growing evidence that exposure to PFAS can adversely affect human health. As a result, regulators are increasingly legislating to require testing of many materials to ensure they do not contain traces of PFAS, or that levels are below permissible legal limits. Since PFAS is widely used in materials commonly used in chemical analysis consumables, such as PTFE, these polyimide/silicone septa are a good alternative.
2) Application
HPLC and GC Autosampler Analysis
Open top caps are used where high-throughput sample analysis via an autosampler is required. This design allows the sampler needle of the autosampler to pass directly through the opening in the cap to extract the sample in the bottle without manually opening the vial cap, improving the efficiency and accuracy of analysis.
