Hazelnut is the edible seed of the hazel tree (Corylus spp.) and is one of the major tree nut allergens. Hazelnut allergy can cause reactions ranging from mild oral allergy symptoms and urticaria to severe anaphylaxis. Hazelnuts are widely used in confectionery, chocolate, bakery products, cereals, and desserts, making allergen monitoring essential for food manufacturers.
AlerTox ELISA Hazelnut is a quantitative Sandwich ELISA designed for the detection and quantification of hazelnut proteins in raw materials, finished food products, and CIP/rinse water samples. The kit shares a common extraction protocol with many other AlerTox ELISA kits, enabling efficient multi-allergen testing from a single sample extract.
Principle: Quantitative Sandwich ELISA.
Plate Format: 96-well microplate.
Assay Time: Approximately 60 minutes.
Sample Preparation
Liquid samples: Dilute the sample and analyze directly.
Solid samples: Homogenize the sample, extract using the extraction buffer, centrifuge or allow solids to settle, and use the supernatant for ELISA analysis.
Limit of Detection
0.07 ppm whole hazelnut.
