1) Description
This 9-425 clear screw cap features a solid molded design with a thin top (approximately 10 mil thickness), offering a PFAS-free alternative for ultra-trace environmental analysis. Unlike traditional lined caps, this version eliminates the risk of fluoropolymer contamination from liners, making it ideal for applications such as PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) testing. The molded thin top provides sufficient flexibility for single needle penetration, though it is not recommended for repeated puncturing or resealing.
Its transparent construction also allows easy visual inspection of vial content without opening, providing both convenience and contamination control.
2)Features
▶ PFAS-Free Construction: No PTFE or fluoropolymer liner-ideal for ultra-trace PFAS and environmental testing.
▶ Molded Thin Top (~10 mil): Designed for limited needle penetration; allows initial sample access but not suitable for repeated punctures.
▶ 9-425 Thread Compatibility: Fits standard 2 mL autosampler vials with 9-425 screw necks.
▶ Minimized Contamination Risk: No adhesives or liner components that could leach into sensitive samples.
▶ Solvent-Resistant Polymer: Compatible with most laboratory solvents.
3) Application
PFAS Testing: Ideal for LC-MS/MS sample collection and storage in PFAS-sensitive workflows.
Environmental Water Analysis: Minimizes fluoropolymer background for accurate detection.
Single-Use Sampling Scenarios: When sample integrity and cleanliness are critical but resealability is not required.
QA/QC in Analytical Chemistry: Especially where cross-contamination from liner materials must be avoided.
Regulated Testing Labs: Useful in labs complying with EPA Method 537.1, 533, or 1633 for PFAS analysis.
