The kit applies the principles of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using paramagnetic particles coated with antibodies specific to Glyphosate.
The sample is derivatized and then added to the paramagnetic particles. Glyphosate present in the sample competes with enzyme-labeled Glyphosate for antibody binding sites on the magnetic particles.
After incubation, a magnetic field is applied to retain the paramagnetic particles while unbound reagents are removed. The particles are then washed before the color solution is added.
The enzyme substrate and chromogen generate a color reaction. The color intensity is inversely proportional to the Glyphosate concentration in the sample.
The product is primarily intended for water samples, including groundwater, surface water, well water and tap water. For soil, crop and food samples, the manufacturer recommends consulting application bulletins and/or specific matrix validation guidelines.
