Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) is a vasodilator.[1]
Application
Prostaglandin E1 may be used in cell culture to protect human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) from injury induced by hydrogen peroxide.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) aids in the relaxation of corporal cavernosal tissue.[2] It helps to preserve the patency of the ductus arteriosus.[1][3] It is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED).[4]
