IL-10 human

General description
IL-10 (interleukin 10) is an immunosuppressive cytokine produced by a variety of mammalian cell types including macrophages, monocytes, T cells, B cells and keratinocytes.[1] The gene is mapped to human chromosome 1q31-1q32.[2] Recombinant human IL-10 is an 18.6kDa protein of 161 amino acid residues. Human IL-10 active on murine cells, but murine IL-10 is inactive on human cells.
Application
IL-10 human has been used to study the effect of IL-10 on endothelial nitric oxide synthase and nitric oxide in African American human umbilical vein endothelial cells.[3] It has also been used to study the effect of IL-10 on leukotriene (LT) A4 hydrolase and LTC4 synthase protein expression in and secretion from, an inflamed porcine endometrium.[4] Biochem/physiol Actions
IL-10 (interleukin 10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine.[2] IL-10 inhibits the expression of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1 and TNF (tumor necrosis factor)-α.[5] Like IL-4, IL-10 enhances humoral immune responses and attenuates cell-mediated immune reactions.[1] Polymorphisms in the IL-10 gene are associated with higher risk of preeclampsia, ankylosing spondylitis, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma.[6][7][8][9] Polymorphism in IL-10 at -1082A/G is associated with diabetic nephropathy.[2] Physical form

Preparation Note
Sterile water at 0.1 mg/mLCentrifuge vial before opening. Suspend the product by gently pipetting the above recommended solution down the sides of the vial. DO NOT VORTEX. Allow several minutes for complete reconstitution. For prolonged storage, dilute to working aliquots in a 0.1% BSA solution, store at -80°C, and avoid repeat freeze thaws.
