Albumin is the most abundant plasma protein in humans. High levels of albumin are associated with dehydration. Albumin turnover is seen in infants with iron deficiency anemia.[1] Serum albumin is a reliable prognostic indicator for liver disease. Oxidative damage of albumin is associated with advanced liver disease.[2]
Application
Bovine Serum Albumin solution has been used as a component:
of Eagle′s minimal essential medium (MEM) used as the liquid maintenance medium (MM) for virus infection[3]
of blocking solution in stimulated and automated immunostaining[4]
of Temin′s modified eagles medium to prepare the fresh overlay medium[5]
in binding medium to perform binding assays[6]
