Glutamine synthetase expression medium (GSEM) supplement enables formation of glutamine from ammonia and glutamate there by alleviating accumulation of ammonia in culture medium.[1] It is exploited for high yield recombinant protein production in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells.[2]
Application
GSEM Supplement has been used as a supplement for ProCHO5 Protein-free medium for culturing Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells[3] and selective medium for NS0 myeloma cells.[4]

Contains (mg/L): L-alanine 450.0, L-asparagine · H2O 4261.0, L-aspartic acid 650.0, L-glutamic acid 3750.0, L-proline 575.0, L-serine 500.0, adenosine 350.0, guanosine 350.0, cytidine 350.0, uridine 350.0, and thymidine 12.0
Preparation Note
One mL will supplement 50 mL of cell culture medium.
