General description
Interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2R)/ cluster of differentiation 122 (CD122) is a heterotrimeric protein, encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 22q12.3.[1] The encoded protein is expressed on the surface of certain immune cells, such as lymphocytes, that binds and responds to a cytokine called IL-2.[2] The IL-2R is made up of 3 subunits – α (CD25), β (CD122) and γ (CD132) – non-covalently associating.[3][4] The α subunit is involved in binding IL-2, while signal transduction following cytokine interaction is carried out by the γ-chain, along with the β subunit.[5] IL2R β is a member of the type I cytokine receptor family.[6] Application

Interleukin 2 receptor subunit β (IL2RB) is involved in signal transduction via its ligand interleukin-2. Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4. Generally 5-8% Mannitol or trehalose is added as a protectant before lyophilization.
Preparation Note
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in sterile PBS, pH 7.4 to a concentration of 50 μg/mL. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 1 month. For extended storage, it is recommended to store at -20°C.
