Interferon-γ from rat

Application
Interferon-γ from rat has been used to study the effect of lipoxin A4 and 17(R)-resolvin D1 on lipopolysaccharide and interferon-γ-mediated tumor necrosis factor release in rat astrocyte culture.[1] In rats, it has been used in the treatment of INS-1 cell culture to study the conversion factors which change the frequency of β-cell replication or apoptosis to rates of replication or apoptosis.[2] Biochem/physiol Actions
Ifng (interferon-γ) plays an important role in innate and adaptive immune responses, and helps in defense against bacterial infections, dimorphic yeast and some viral infections.[3] In rats, it is upregulated during ischemic injury in the embolic stroke.[4] In cultured rat intestinal mucosa microvascular endothelial cells, ifng is responsible for inducing expression of interferon-α and interferon-β.[5] Features and Benefits
The biological activity is measured in an anti-viral assay using L-929 cells infected with EMC virus.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 50 μg of bovine serum albumin per 1 μg of cytokine.
